[The device turns on in the middle of Med'an speaking. His voice sounds solemn and measured, and clear although he's obviously turned away from the communicator.]
...me the way. Give me the strength to overcome what challenges cross my path. Let me walk boldly and with grace.
[There's a pause. The only sound in the kirk is his breathing. The next part is a little less sure of himself, as though he's struggling how he wants to phrase it.]
Help me to defend my friends against our enemies. I have only begun my training as a paladin in the service of the Light, but...please walk with me through all of my journeys. And continue to fill me with tenacity and compassion.
May it be so.

... Med'an?
[audio]
Yes?

[audio]
[Or fairies.
Named Molly.]I was just doing my meditation.
[audio]
Meditation?
[audio]
Yeah. I have to meditate on the Light every day - it's part of my training as a paladin.
[audio]
I don't care. Any distraction in this place is as good as any, I guess.
[ She actually pauses for a moment, because.. welp, she's around Med'an so much yet there's still quite a lot she doesn't know about him yet, huh? ] Meditate on the Light? Sounds interesting.
[audio]
Do you have the Church of Light on Earth? I've heard people talk about a god before...[That's not exactly the same thing, though.]
[audio]
[ No matter how long she's here, it will always feel somewhat strange to talk about 'Earth' as if it isn't something normal to other people. Even if Med'an is green and has little tentacles on his chin. ]
Some involve meditation as well.
[audio]
[They have Light and Loas and Titans and moon-goddesses and all sorts of things!]
What is the Church like? Do you meditate, Ange? [That would be a little weird...but maybe fitting too...she seems like she thinks a lot at least...]
[audio]
[ There's a small pause. St. Lucia doesn't have many happy memories for her, after all. ]
But I guess I've sort of meditated there before. The morning and evening prayers were obligatory, after all.
[audio]
I hadn't really thought about the Light much before I met Uncle. He's the one who encouraged me to be a paladin.
[Not in that he scoffed at it, but just that it wasn't something he thought about often.]
I have to do it, but I don't really mind, I guess. The Light is comforting.
[audio]
... Did you get along well with your uncle?

I draw strength from the Light, and that...that helps me accomplish things. The Light supports me.

Then you can't do anything under your own power?

What? [W-what you say...?! He's never really thought about it like that. Or had anyone else think about it like that. He....he doesn't know if he likes it....]
No, that's not...the Light doesn't replace my power, the Light is my power. Or at least part of it. [Merf.]
There's nothing wrong with drawing support from theology.

[He thinks about his triumphant battle with Cho'gall.
And how his grandmother died in it.
But that isn't the Light's fault. That's Cho'gall's fault. Even though she died to save him, her grandson - ]
The Light gives freely. All you have to do is listen.
