[Med'an's face appears on camera, looking tired. The past week and a half had not given the month a very good start, and he'd been quieter for it. His birthday had been nice, but after that...well, not. The fact that the Fae had been so malevolent worried him. And now there was something else.]

Aaron isn't here...

[In the kitchen of the inn, that is, where Med'an is. It sounds like he searched the building for him, because he doesn't sound very hopeful.]

Has anyone seen him? Aaron, if you can hear this...well, come back soon, alright?

[The boy pauses to look around the room, rubbing his arm absently.]

It's getting cold here. We should stock up on things, before the hunting gets worse. Does anyone know how cold it will be? Does it snow?

We'll have to be prepared...

Yeah, it gets pretty bad. I'm surprised there's no snow yet, actually. It nearly reached the rooftops last winter.

We've been stocking up for a while, but now we really need to put a lot of emphasis on it.

I haven't seen Aaron, but I'll keep an eye out.

We've been preserving some of our meat in the basement of the Inn. Um... the people who can have been making furs and stuff, and we make sure we have fire spells to melt the ice and to cook with! Oh, and we put things over the windows, like stretched hides.

I'm not sure what we're going to do about vegetables. Some of them might still be okay, but we will be running out of them.

[ Ember whines and sulks a little before flapping toward the device and swiveling the camera to point at the bed. Melusine is rolled over, her back pointing toward the camera. It's obvious that she's not hurt, nor is she asleep, but she isn't really moving to respond to the feed either. ]

[ The door isn't really locked, so it's easy for anyone to just walk right on in. Melusine is still in bed, wearing only her aketon and some casual nightpants rather than her armor, which is set off to the side in an unceremonious heap. Her lance is on top of the pile, and there's a pouch of cookies, half-eaten.

Ember races over to greet Med'an. And boy does he seem worried. Have some whining and nudging! ]

[COOKIES He exchanges a worried look with Ember, and gives her an absentminded scritch. The mongrel moves towards the bed, touches Mel's shoulder.]

[ Melusine flinches at his touch, more out of surprise than anything. She doesn't really move, instead just laying there. ]

[ She frowns unseen at the alternative, but does not allow it to seep into her voice as she continues to speak. The idea of snow makes her wrinkle her nose, though. She isn't sure she'll ever get used to that stuff. ]

You are right, though. We are approaching the depths of winter. I doubt the missing would smile upon their return if the village was lacking proper stores either. It would be wise of us to see to our stores during this period of relative silence from the fae.
